Profile Information

Class Year:

About Me:
I was an undergrad at JMU, graduated in '07, and am about to finish up the MOT program this year. I am from NH, and I love lakes! In the summer I go to my family's cottage on Chandos Lake in Ontario, and we go waterskiing and sailing and hang out with our AWESOME neighbors : ) I also grew up snow-skiing and ice skating, and I love being outdoors. I marched in the JMU MRDs for my 4 undergrad years, playing tuba for the last 3, and I have been very involved with the Wesley Foundation since my first Thursday night at JMU. I work as a Lead Student Supervisor at PC Dukes oncampus, where I have been working since my sophomore year.

What areas of OT practice are you interested in:
I have not really chosen a particular area that I am interested in yet. My Level I fieldwork placements were at a preschool, Western State Hospital (mental health), and Woodrow Wilson Rehab Center. They were all very different, and I liked them all. My first Level II will be in industrial rehab at Sheltering Arms (a rehab facility in Richmond, VA), and I am looking forward to that. I have also worked as a rehab aide in an inpatient rehab center at home, and I liked that as well.

I also haven't chosen a favorite population - I have liked working with children, adults, elderly people, people who are mentally ill, and people my age. I think the only population I would prefer not to work with is "yucky 8th graders!"

So my options are endless - I am open to just about anything!
